He's been a prime influencer in developing a dance scene in Ireland despite living outside of here for the best part of the last decade. First it was The Mood club with Martin Moore which flew the flag against tacky "niteclubs" way back when. Then Marxman, a Bristol/Dublin thing which sent off ripple of genuine excitement across Ireland when their debut single "Sad affair" started surfacing. Their subsequent "33 revolutions per minute" album, a complete and assured collection of tight, intelligent hip-hop was more encouragement for those back home with "ship ahoy" featuring Sinead O'Connor lodging itself in the consiousness pretty damn quickly. Marxman eventually faltered and Oisin started working on a variety of projects, including a lot of time spent in the studio with Shara Nelson. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Late into '98 and Oisin set up Chilean Records which released the first two Firstborn singles of which, "The Mood Club" was the second. That original club night in Dublin was the inspiration for Oisin's massive mod-ern northern soul stomper which was then signed up and re-issued at the end of last summer, becoming a radio one hit in the UK. Oisin joins us at 3345 from the middle of working on what will be Firstborn's debut album. He's also been busying himself building websites -including one for Firstborn which features the mood club video.
